FurrIX Name Server Status
FurrIX operates a pair of DNS name servers that participate in the OpenNIC
Tier‑2 network. These servers are publicly reachable as part of OpenNIC’s technical
requirements, but their intended users are:
- members of the FurrIX Virtual Internet Exchange
- OpenNIC community participants
- homelab and hobbyist environments connected to or interacting with FurrIX

These servers are volunteer‑run, best‑effort projects. They may be
rate‑limited, unavailable or changed without notice.

Purpose and Intended Use
The resolvers support:
- standard ICANN‑coordinated domains
- OpenNIC alternative namespaces
- member‑hosted or FurrIX zones
To protect network stability:
- query rate limits are enforced
- bandwidth shaping is applied
- known malicious or high‑risk domains may be blocked
- abusive traffic may be filtered or denied

These measures ensure the servers remain usable for FurrIX members
and OpenNIC participants.
